I’m Lara Heppell and I work with women through movement,
bodywork and in community using cycle and seasonal awareness.
I’m Lara Heppell. I help yoga instructors and women’s well-being professionals grow their businesses and themselves as individuals, through online yoga training, personal and business support.
I know the challenges that come from being a yoga instructor – trying to nurture and support my clients while running a viable business – at the same time achieving personal work/life balance and dealing with my own challenges as I progress through womanhood.
A yoga practitioner for over 20 years, teaching for the last 15, I am a fully qualified YA Senior Yoga Teacher, Women’s Wellness Mentor, Teacher Trainer, Mizan abdominal massage therapist, Doula and Women’s circle facilitator.
Initially trained in Dynamic yoga with Godfrey Devereux I went on to study at the renowned KYM in India. After a period of illness with suspected womb health issues and finding conceiving my son not quite as straightforward as I expected, I started to explore a gentler approach to yoga and began to study with Liz Koch and Uma Dinsmore Tuli.
I became fascinated at this time by Womb Yoga and the effect of Yoga upon fertility, the menstrual cycle and conception, and undertook extensive training in Pregnancy Yoga, Mum and Baby Post Natal Yoga, Womb Yoga, Well Woman Yoga Therapy, Menstrual Health, Menopause and Fertility, studying with menstrual health and fertility experts Alexandra Pope and Jane Bennett.
A lover of more somatic and Restorative approaches to yoga I have trained extensively with the world-renowned teacher Judith Hanson Lasater, and the teachings of Fabiano Cularo in Somatic movement and the Yoga goddess Angela Farmer completely altered my way of thinking.
I regularly teach a variety of classes, workshop and retreats at Yoga Kula studio in Leeds and I am part of the amazing Yoga Kula Teacher training programme faculty. I also offer mentoring and supervision support to newer teachers too.
I am really passionate about nurturing and supporting women’s wellbeing at every stage of life through Yoga, movement, meditation, bodywork and seasonal and cycle awareness, and love helping other teachers to learn these skills so they too can support women out in the wider world in this way.
