Introduction to Pregnancy Yoga

Is the course accredited?

The allwoman Introduction to Pregnancy Yoga is accredited by Yoga Alliance UK.

Who is the course for?

Our Introduction to Pregnancy Yoga course is for yoga teachers (qualified or currently in training) as well as midwives, fitness professionals, NCT teachers, childbirth educators and healthcare professionals who would like to support the pregnant women they work with through Pregnancy Yoga. It is also suitable for keen yogis who have a dedicated practice and are thinking about getting pregnant or who are pregnant and would like to understand how best to support the changing needs of their body as they journey through pregnancy and beyond into motherhood.

What will I be assessed on to pass the course?

There is no assessment for the Introduction to Pregnancy Yoga Course.

How long is the course?

The Introduction to Pregnancy Yoga course lasts for one day.

What does a typical day look like while on the course?

An outline of the day for the Introduction to Pregnancy Yoga course is as follows:

10am until 12.30pm

The session will begin with a short meditation and a simple, accessible pregnancy focused yoga class to enable you to experience what a pregnancy focused practice feels like in the body.

We will then move into discussions around:

  • The pregnancy experience and journey, looking at the physical, emotional and psychological needs and considerations of a pregnant woman both in general terms and in the setting of a yoga class
  • Common pregnancy-related issues and how these would affect a yoga practice
  • What to avoid in yoga and breathing and why, at the various stages of pregnancy
  • Beneficial practices at the various stages of pregnancy
  • When a general yoga class might not be right
  • Benefits of a dedicated pregnancy yoga class
  • Q&A time, a quick lie down and integrate

12.30pm until 1.30pm

Lunch break

1.30pm until 5.00pm

The afternoon session will be a practical workshop, including a yoga class integrating modifications for pregnancy and exploring ways to embody what pregnancy feels like. It will cover:

  • Alternative sun salutations
  • Breakdown of the more common asanas, looking at suitable modifications or alternatives for each trimester or any presenting body issues
  • Discussion on appropriate breathwork during pregnancy and in preparation for birth
  • Practice teaching time in pairs and groups
  • Q&A around what has been learnt, philosophy around teaching pregnant students, nourishment, community, sangha
  • Relaxation, integration time and Yoga Nidra.
What is the course fee?

The course fee for the Introduction to Pregnancy Yoga course is £70.

What does my course fee include?

The course fee includes teaching and handouts.

What does my course fee not include?

The course fee does not include books, travel expenses, accommodation or meals.

Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training Course

Is the course accredited?

The allwoman Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training Course is accredited by Yoga Alliance UK.

Who is the course for?

Our Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training Course is for yoga teachers, movement practitioners or student yoga teachers who wishes to deepen their own practice or perhaps prepare for pregnancy themselves, as well as childbirth educators, doulas, midwives and other pregnancy health professionals who support women who have an established yoga practice.

What will I be assessed on to pass the course?

For the Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training Course, you’ll be assessed on:

  • Videos of 60 minute live class for review
  • Pregnancy yoga class observation
  • Class and workshop plans
  • Submission of an overview of learnings and journaling experiences from your experience of embodying pregnancy practices
  • You must attend 100% of the course
How long is the course?

The Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training Course is a six day course over two weekends (65 hours with 42 contact hours and 23 self study hours including pre-reading and assignments).

What is the course fee?

The course fee for the Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training Course is £650.

What does my course fee include?

The course fee includes tutorials and handouts.

What does my course fee not include?

The course fee does not include books, travel expenses, accommodation or meals.

Do you have a payment plan?

We understand that different people have different financial situations so we may offer a payment plan to suit your needs for the Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training Course and are happy to discuss this over the phone. We do not require payment until you have been accepted onto the course and your place is secured when you pay a non-refundable deposit. The balance can be paid in instalments but is due eight weeks before the start of the course. This is normally paid by bank transfer.

Do you offer any bursary places?

Yes. To apply for a bursary place, you need to complete the application form here.

What is your cancellation policy?

For the Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training Course, our cancellation policy is:

  • Following your successful application, payment of the deposit will secure your place on the course.
  • The deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances.
  • We will refund the full course fees (less the deposit) up to 8 weeks before the start of the course.
  • No refund will be offered on the course fees after that time. However, you can transfer your place to another person subject to us accepting them on the course.
  • Fees are non-transferable to another training course.

What is the application process?

To apply for the Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training Course, you need to complete the online application form. We consider every application on its merits before offering places to the successful applicants.
