The Emergence Retreat
- for women in mid-lifeJoin the waitlist to be the first to hear about the next retreat
“Dear Pleasing, I’m leaving you for Pleasure”
– Sarah Durham Wilson
Dear mid-life woman,
It is with great pleasure I can share with you that we are at last able to begin residential retreats.
The Emergence Retreat is a collaboration between Jo Kemp and myself.
Jo Kemp, of The Way of Soma fame, is a highly experienced Yoga and Menopause Yoga Teacher, a skilled Yoga Therapist, Senior Dynamic Yoga Teacher and Teacher Trainer specialising in Breathwork and Nervous System trainings. She takes a somatic embodied approach to Yoga and her work is trauma informed.
Between us, we have over 40 years of teaching experience and have led many retreats in various locations over the years.
Our Why
As perimenopausal women, both Jo and I share the view that mid-life transition can be a powerful portal for transformation, where we can get to know ourselves anew, embrace change, and emerge with a deeper connection to our innate wise woman wisdom and all the power that brings.
The What
The Emergence Retreat is for women looking to step into and embrace mid-life as strong, empowered and embodied women.
It’s a space for women at all stages of their perimenopause/menopause journey to share, learn and explore a variety of activities and practices together and importantly take as much rest as needed.
The Retreat Experience
🗸 Three days of nourishment and complete restoration.
🗸 In a spectacular venue overlooking one of the prettiest coves in the Costa Brava, with access to beautiful walks and lush nature.
🗸 A beautiful fusion of practices including Somatic Movement, Yoga Nidra, deeply nourishing Restorative and Menopause Yoga, soothing Breathwork for menopause and practices for healthy bones and pelvic wellbeing.
🗸 Plenty of time for open sharing with our women’s circles, womb space massage, informal presentations and informative chats on all things menopause around the dinner table.
🗸 Opportunities to explore creative expression in a variety of forms, including dance, intuitive movement, photography and journaling.
🗸 An invitation to relax deeply, to respect the pause in menopause, enjoying time in great company and time to be fully with yourself.
🗸 Therapeutic full body and facial massage to support deep relaxation and rejuvenation with our highly experienced therapist.
🗸 Healthy and nutritious food with an emphasis on hormone balance, bone health and supporting the menopausal microbiome.
🗸 Post-retreat, a pack of recorded practices, reflections and guides on the various subjects that we have explored during the retreat so you can continue to feel supported once you return home.
Through everything we explore together we hope to guide you into a deeper connection with your own inner wisdom so that you may leave feeling a new sense of autonomy and intuitive ability to make wise choices for yourself that will nourish and sustain you through this time of your life.

And so … where will it be?
We wanted to create an environment that could be both supportive, containing and pleasure focused.
And then we found the most gorgeous venue, with a beautiful bright and spacious Yoga space with amazing views and thought this would be a fantastic way to invite a pause in towards the end of the year!
Located in the north east of Spain, in the Catalonia region, on the Mediterranean Costa Brava coast, our retreat venue is around 1.5km outside the village of Begur, which is 90km from the French border and 140km from Barcelona as you can see on the map here.
Begur is a lively Catalan village with a great selection of restaurants and shops and a medieval castle overlooking the Massif Begur and coastline.
The retreat venue is a beautiful minimalist, eco and sustainably built villa surrounded by Mediterranean gardens overlooking the sea with the beach and forest within walking distance.
There’s a beautiful heated wooden floored practice space with amazing views, two large chill out and living spaces with an open fire, indoor and outdoor dining areas as well as a salt water pool.
The accommodation is in 10 shared bedrooms with 100% natural materials and furnishings.
We would love for you to join us here!

From London airports – BA, Easyjet, Vueling, Iberia, Ryanair, Monarch

We will set up a WhatsApp group for those travelling from the UK so you can arrange to share taxis etc. Our retreat villa is around 1 hour 30 minutes from the airport or alternatively you can get the train to Girona.

Sants Estacio (Central Barcelona) to Girona – 40 minutes by fast train or 75 minutes by slower train.
It is around 50 minutes from the station to our retreat villa which costs approximately 20-30 euros per person depending on numbers. You’ll be able to use the WhatsApp group to arrange to share taxis.
Or you might want to arrange for your own car hire.
When you book on to The Emergence Retreat, you do so under your own risk. It’s really important that you get your own travel insurance and get yourself covered. Many companies over additional Covid cover now too to help you stay protected for any eventualities.
If The Emergence Retreat is cancelled due to Covid restrictions in Spain, you will receive your money back minus a 50 euro admin fee. However, if you cannot attend due to Covid restrictions in your own country, or if you contract Covid yourself, the full amount will be due. We recommend you get travel insurance to cover you for this.
If you can’t attend then the option to transfer your place to another person will be available and, where possible, we would help to support you to fill your place. If that option is not available then the full retreat cost will still be due.
