FAQs for allwoman yoga classes, courses and workshops
What type of yoga do you teach?
What's the difference between a course and a class, and then there are workshops?
A class is a standalone session, whereas a course involves progression from week to week , month to month.
A workshop involves an in-depth exploration of a particular topic and can be standalone or part of a series. Workshops usually last a few hours, so they are like a longer, more intensive class.
Are beginners welcome?
Yes, everyone is welcome. However, please bear in mind that we also teach yoga teachers and advanced yoga practitioners so it wouldn’t be appropriate for you to attend these classes/sessions. Please make sure you read the details about the class/session you’d like to join carefully to make sure it’s suitable for your level of ability.
What if I have a medical condition or an injury?
Every new student/client is asked to complete a medical form to make your teacher aware of any injury or condition that may affect your yoga practice. Your teacher will discuss/demonstrate appropriate modifications with you. However, it is important to bear in mind that yoga is a physical activity so if you are in any doubt about whether you should be practising, it is important to discuss with your doctor first.
What if I'm not very flexible or fit?
It’s a myth that you need to be flexible or fit to practise yoga – yoga is for everybody and every body.
What if I'm pregnant?
That’s no problem. Just let the teacher know at the beginning of the class/session and she will make sure that the class/session will be safe for you. However, you may want to choose a specific Pregnancy Yoga class.
What should I wear?
Comfort is your main priority, so leggings or joggers and a t-shirt are ideal with an extra layer for the relaxation at the end. Yoga is practised barefoot so you don’t need any special shoes. Some people like to start with their socks on until they warm up, but if you suffer from cold feet you may want to pair of ‘grippy’ socks so you don’t have to take them off during the session.
What do I need to bring along?
You’ll need a yoga mat and you may wish to bring a cushion and blanket for relaxation at the end. And don’t forget to bring a bottle of water!
Should I eat or drink before my class/session?
Ideally, you shouldn’t eat for the 2 hours before your session. However, you can drink water right up to the start. And bring a bottle of water with you in case you get thirsty during the session.

When you book, you will be asked to pay either by Paypal or credit card.
How do I join an online class, course or workshop?
When you book you will receive a confirmation email that will have all the details on how to login to your class, course or workshop via the Zoom platform. This email will also explain what you need to bring to the class/session.
What device do I need to participate in an online class, course or workshop?
You can use any internet connected device with a screen and webcam. This can be a desktop or laptop computer, iPad, tablet or smartphone.
How do I actually take part in an online class, course or workshop?
About 10 minutes before your class/session starts, click on the link that came in your confirmation email and it will take you to Acuity from where there will be a link to access the Zoom platform.
If it’s your first time ever using Zoom you may need to download the Zoom app.
Once you’re logged in, you’ll be in a waiting room until we start the class/session, and then you’ll be in!
It's online. Will I see the teacher, and can she see me?
As it’s a live class/session, you will see the teacher, and you may see other students if you’re part of a group. However, you do have the option to turn off your camera so you can’t be seen, but we would encourage you to keep your webcam on so the teacher can see you and make suggestions if needed. Obviously, in a one to one support session, it’s essential you leave your webcam on to facilitate one to one dialogue.
Are online classes/sessions recorded?
Some but not all classes are recorded and if it is we may send out a recording. All our online one to one support sessions are recorded so you can refer to what was covered in the session and practice at home.
